TOURISM LEARNING EXPERIENCES IN THE ART OF DISTILLATION
Essential oils distiller ÉCONOMUSÉE® and Boutique
BoreA DécouVERTE, Distiller Essential oils distiller ÉCONOMUSÉE®, is a non-profit organization offering tourism learning experiences in the art of distilling aromatic plants and exploring the boreal forest.
The ÉCONOMUSÉE® showcases BoreA Canada’s circular economy model, which operates within an eco-responsible and sustainable framework.
As part of its DNA, the company adheres to the principles of circular economy by repurposing unused products from forestry companies, utilizing steam from cogeneration plants, and fostering the involvement of local communities.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY ECOSYSTEM BASED ON FIVE PILLARS
Nothing is wasted, and everything must be reused
"Nothing is wasted, and everything must be reused" is the guiding principle behind essential oil extraction. BoreA Canada ensures the valorization of forestry company residues within a 50 km radius for its activities.
This latest initiative also aligns with the social aspect of sustainable tourism.
Our circular economy ecosystem is built on five (5) pillars: eco-responsible processes, giving objects a second life, human valorization, knowledge sharing, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
It is also important to note that among all businesses in Quebec Province, BoreA DécouVERTE is the only one located in the Eeyou Istchee – James Bay territory to distill such high-quality products within a circular economy framework. Additionally, it is the only company offering tours of its industrial facilities and welcoming the general public.
TOURISM LEARNING EXPERIENCES IN THE ART OF DISTILLATION
Description of Our Expertise
-
BoreA DécouVERTE aims to highlight the natural resources that surround it by showcasing a unique expertise: the production of essential oils from wild harvesting in northern environments.
We collaborate with local forestry industries to recover and repurpose materials that are not used by the sector, transforming these residues into raw materials for the production of our essential oils. This approach strengthens our commitment to sustainability while supporting the local economy.
BoreA Canada produces essential oils and hydrosols from boreal forest plants, BoreA SENS ensures the manufacturing and sale of these products to consumers, and BoreA DécouVERTE offers a tourism and educational experience in the art of distilling aromatic plants from the boreal forest. Together, they provide genuine, high-quality products and services in a sustainable way.
